School’s Out employs technology in the childcare / activity scheduling space to help parents of school-aged children Search, Schedule & Share Activities for Your Kids— All In One Place.
Together with the two Founders, we worked with a team of Developers and UX/UI professionals to connect the vision with an identity and brand feel that made sense for a growing user base who needs this technology to help solve a decades-old problem.
From the beginning, the desire for a “dynamic” brand identity was expressed. Establishing a no-nonsense tone & voice aligned parents with the service S–O provides – saving busy Moms and Dads time while they prioritize their kid’s engagements and happiness. The identity needn’t be cutesy, full of kids and toys, or easy-going colors. The essence of the brand is the passion for alleviating anxiety and stress for busy parents, resulting in busy kids. The visual identity reflects this sentiment and gets straight to the point.

Using the motif of an illustrated “bell-ring,” we developed an identity that evoked a sense of urgency and motion. Crafting the bellrings around the ‘S’ and ‘O’ helped focus on the acronym for the company, S–O, and further informed the secondary logo which is used in circular API formats and other abbreviated spaces.
Smart copy plays a big role for marketing engagement and an on-brand tone/voice.
UI shades were created from 6 brand colors that could be used interchangeably and fluidly across all media and platforms.
The use of images is an important component for marketing the brand. Images evoke, remind, & stir emotions. They are used to reinforce the mission of the company – alleviating the stress of planning activities for kids.
The “bellrings” are flexible in their use— they can be altered slightly and used in premium offerings.
